Spaghetti Squash... it's not in the noodle aisle

This week I received a special meal plan and exercises for shoulders, hamstrings, legs, chest, and biceps. I'm supposed to get cardio sessions in almost everyday but since the half marathon the outside edge of my foot hurts. I tried to run on the treadmill tonight but I only made it 3 minutes. I switched to the elliptical machine which didn't hurt but I don't feel I got as good of a workout.

After my workout I went to World Foods to get the ingredients for my special meal plan.  Meal number 2 is lean ground beef, pasta sauce, and spaghetti squash. I have been looking for spaghetti squash for weeks now! I thought you could find spaghetti squash in the noodle aisle wrapped in a bag or box just like regular spaghetti. Boy was I deceived! My wonderful friend, Nicole, informed me that spaghetti squash is actually a vegetable which could be found in the vegetable aisle. Who would have guessed?!

13.1... Where's my sticker?

On January 29, 2012, I completed my first half marathon with my future hubby-poo. I completed the half marathon in 2 hours and 22 minutes which is 8 minutes faster than my goal! I'm proud to say that I only stopped once to use the restroom (BTW the toilets were disgusting!).

I created a ballin' (yes ballin') playlist on Spotify for the half marathon. I had songs from Deadmau5 to Paul Simon to Mad Caddies. It's a weird mix but it kept me dancing while I ran. Here is a link to my Spotify Half Marathon playlist if you're interested: Half Marathon.

Italobrothers - "Stamp on the ground"

It is so motivating to have the 6000 runners all around you moving towards the same goal. I also loved seeing the people on the side cheering us on! My favorite sign was "Worst Parade Ever". There was also a sign that said "You're not slow... You're just enjoying the course."

Isn't she the cutest? I don't think she would have made it 13.1 miles.
Now I have to get back into the swing of things. I have 6 more weeks to lose about 16 pounds. Is that possible? I'm not sure but I'll try to reach it!

T-Minus 5 days...

The 3M Half Marathon is almost here! The longest I have ever run is 5 miles and that was a few months ago. Sometimes I catch myself talking to myself (in my head of course). I have a little chant in my head "Just keep running, Just keep running..." or "Don't stop running! You need to burn off those french fries that you ate yesterday." It works... try it. My arms and legs muscles currently hurt because of the different exercises I did last week and on Monday. I hope I will feel better by Sunday. Running with sore muscles is not enjoyable.

I have been filled with all kinds of different emotions this past week. I have been feeling physically and emotionally exhausted. Waking up early for morning workouts, working out 6 days a week (2 of which I work out twice), and planning my wedding is a lot. I don't play well when I'm tired and grumpy. Craig and I went to the grocery store yesterday and I wanted to grab the Velveeta mac and cheese, pretzels, diet coke, and pizza. I was feeling very defeated and wanted to leave. I wish eating healthy was easier and not such a chore.

On that note... I have lost almost 13 pounds so far. You would think that would be motivation enough to keep going strong and not to cheat. I need a routine that is realistic to maintain the weight once I lose it. Working out 6 days a week is just not that realistic for me. Especially the days that I have to work out twice. I'm suppose to work out today but I doubt it will happen. I'm going to go meet with a possible officiant for my wedding. I'm not a fan of exercising past 7. That's my time to relax and not think about anything and enjoy my 10 million TV shows that I watch.

My closing statement for today is... BLAH. Enjoy. Peace.

Love It... Hate It

Love It
Rock Star: 0 Calories, 0 Carbs! It also comes with a straw!

Gotye - Somebody That I Used to Know

Kimbra - Settle Down
Losing weight! 10lbs and counting! I have been craving sweets more often now. I did cheat today with peanut M&M's. I don't know why I ate them. I will need to work extra hard tomorrow morning.

Foam Roller - I have bad shin splints and it was recommended that I roll my shins over a foam roller. I didn't believe it but after I did it and went for a run, they felt sooooo much better!

Hate It
Cottage Cheese... Yuck! I stuff it down because it's full of protein but I can't eat that much of it.

Burpees and Pushups... Terrible exercises...

Meeting 20 million vendors for my wedding. I'm ready to pick the first person I meet now.

Hate It But Love It
5:30 AM Workout - I hate waking up so early but it's nice to get the workout over with for the day.

New Year, New Try

It has been approximately 8 months... 8 months... 8 months... since my last post. Terrible... huh? I will admit that I'm awful at keeping up with something like this but I really would like to try again. It will be nice to document my year ahead as it will be a busy one! A lot has changed in the last 8 months.
  1. I was promoted to Professional Services Manager. I now manager projects instead of implement them.
  2. I was engaged on November 10, 2011! We will be getting married on November 10, 2012!
  3. I started a nutrition/fitness program through Revelation Fitness on December 19, 2011. I'm 4 weeks in and I have lost 8 lbs. At the end of the program I will be in a reveal photo shoot and Craig and I will take our engagement photos with InkedFingers! I have a few goals to complete by mid-March.
    1. Lose 30 lbs (15% body fat)
    2. Complete the 3M half marathon on January 29, 2012
    3. Fit into a size 4 wedding dress
I will be documenting my journey through the fitness program and the wedding planning. So stay tuned!
